Karate taught to Master Shimabuku by Master Choki Motobu. Master Shimabuku also learned this style from Master Chotoku Kyan.

Taught to Master Shimabuku by Master Chojun Miyagi.

Taught to Master Shimabuku by Master Shinkin Taira.
Isshinryu Karate
Master Shimabuku combined all that he learned into what we now call Isshinryu Karate.
He continued to refine his art until finally naming Master Uezu as his successor. On February 1, 2007 Master Uezu named Master Chase as his successor to the Isshinryu Legacy.
Master Chase is now President of the Okinawa Isshinryu Karate Kobudo Association. While Master Uezu still plays an active role and has taken the position of Chairman Emeritus and Special Advisor.
Master Chase contiues to uphold the highest standards passed down from Master Shimabuku as President of the OIKKA and Personal Representative of Master Uezu.
